Our mission, vision and values.

Our history

In 2013, Jean-François Bourdon created Maison Bourdon, the first sunglasses brand made in Montreal. An entrepreneurial gamble thrown down to himself, and dreams of expansion full in the head.

Having studied cabinetmaking and guitar making

Jean-francois decided to create his own eyewear brand, designing from start to finish.

Where did this idea come from?

The idea of creating eyewear from plastic, and finding an efficient way of making them, seems to have come from personal experimentation and a desire to innovate.

Using plaster molds borrowed from my denturist father, we began to explore the possibility of creating spectacle frames. However, we soon realized that we needed heat-resistant molds and a compression method adapted to plastic.

Over the years, we continued to experiment with and perfect your technique until we arrived at a new approach in 2023: the creation of printed and colored frames. This evolution in our manufacturing method was probably the result of constant research, testing and innovation in your field.

The creation of Maison Bourdon in 2023 with this new approach testifies to our determination to push back the boundaries and offer unique products in the eyewear market.

After years of fine-tuning its art, Maison Bourdon brings you a whole new approach for 2023.

In 2023, colorful printed frames make their appearance.

With the purchase of a pair of glasses, $10 is donated to the Fauna Foundation (protected sanctuary for former biomedical research chimpanzees and neglected and abused farm and domestic animals). https://faunafoundation.Org

With every purchase of eyewear, a Pura Vida Save the Rainforest wristband is included on our cases, donating 10S to Pura Vida.
A % will be donated to the Rainforest Trust, a non-profit organization that purchases and protects the most endangered rainforests, saving endangered wildlife through partnerships and community engagement.

Our Creator

At MAISON BOURDON, we treat glasses really well.

Our creator, Jean-François gives life to each of our sisters, by his great creativity, his overflowing imagination, like a scientist in full boil of idea, our creator strings us and models us with his meticulous hands of so that we are all originally unique.

In the end,

The pink color of the lenses evokes a certain elegance and a sense of distinctive style, which could make you feel confident and proud when you wear them.

The idea of strutting around in front of your sisters who might feel less privileged is an expression of personal satisfaction and pride for your acquisition.

However, it is also important to remember that personal value does not depend solely on material possessions, but rather on intrinsic qualities and life experiences.

It is essential to remain humble and empathetic towards others, regardless of their material status.
The important thing is to cultivate positive relationships and share joy with those around you, regardless of their possessions or situation.
